Rob Rudin teaches percussion at Cambridge Music on Tuesdays and Saturdays. He has performed and recorded with artists from Americana to Zydeco. Recent road work includes tours with Circus Smirkus, Norwegian Cruise Lines and Grammy nominee Adrienne Young. He is also musical director for America's Got Talent winner Rudi Macaggi. Rob plays many instruments, including drum kit, bodhran, rhythm bones and doumbek. He is a member of the percussive organizations Washboards International and The Rhythm Bones Society.
For the past twelve years, Rob has been a member of the Boston-based, radical-traditional group Einstein's Little Homunculus, playing contra dances and concerts while flexing his creative muscles as musician, singer, songwriter and producer. ELH has released three CDs.
Rob has studied with Keith Copeland and Bob Gullotti, both outstanding jazz drummers and students of the late master drummer and teacher Allan Dawson. He's attended master classes with Max Roach and tabla virtuoso the late Alla Rakha.
In addition to teaching percussion at Cambridge Music Center, Rob has taught at the Cape Cod Conservatory and Marlborough High School, and directs a student jug band in the Lexington Public Schools. He holds a Masters in Education and certificates in Orff Schulwerk and Kodaly music education and Kalani Drum Circle facilitation.
